Welcome to my website!

The main purpose of this website is to give you an idea of what I do during my time at the university. My research is located on the intersection of urban studies and political sociology. I wrote on a number of topics including housing policy, public debates, state theory, drug policy, social movements and urban governance. In many of these research projects, I tried to combine critical theory with positivistic methodologies. My CV gives an impression of what I did and what I like. You can find downloadable pieces under publications.

At the moment, I work at the sociology department of the Erasmus University Rotterdam as an assistant professor (non-tenured). Before starting my position at the Erasmus University, I was a PhD-student in the Amsterdam School for Social science Research (ASSR) and an MA-student in the Department of Human Geography at the University of Amsterdam.

I serve on the editorial board of TSS, Tijdschrift voor sociale vraagstukken (Journal of Social Issues) and Sociologie. I am an editorial advisor of the journal Agora and the book series Kennis, openbare mening, politiek (of the publisher Van Gennep).
